Who We Are

We are excited to announce that beginning in 2024, our school will be operating under a new name:

Art Restoration and Conservation International Field School, or ARCIFS.

Our new field study program still bears our commitment to quality and will continue to provide our students with a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum via an exceptional, immersive experience. Offering a superior restoration and conservation preparation program to our students remains one of our core values.

As the founders and directors of ARCIFS, we possess 23 years of academic experience in the field of restoration and conservation practice.

Our experienced team consists of an international faculty representing various disciplines from the field. Each instructor has achieved extensive knowledge, expertise, and research in historic preservation, restoration, and conservation. Our faculty and staff share our committment to providing our students with a supportive learning environment that fosters critical thinking, innovation, and collaboration. Ensuring that our students achieve their academic and career goals is a professional responsibility held by our entire team.

Our commitment to quality instruction and to nurturing an inclusive and diversified student experience extends beyond the classroom and into the community. We have developed partnerships with local organizations and regional institutions to ensure that our students have access to the latest research, resources, and practical opportunities in the field. Providing these opportunities is one example of how we dedicate ourselves to the success of each student.

Alongside a singular restoration and conservation immersion experience, our field study program will immerse students in the renown and culture of Umbrian Italy, within the hilltop town of Amelia--our new home of ARCIFS. We look forward to welcoming both first-time and returning students to the new ARCIFS community!
