MANUELA BELLI

Manuela Belli is a freelance paper conservator who lives and works in Rome. She began her work in conservation and restoration in 2003, beginning with formal training and coursework in Spoleto. In 2008, Manuela received her degree in the conservation and restoration methodologies and techniques of books and archival materials from the Tor Vergata University in Rome.

From 2003 to 2010, Manuela worked in the private sector with a studio in Rome specializing in works of art on paper. During this period she was trained in the proper care and handling of ancient, modern and contemporary art on paper, large formats, and oriental arts, such as scrolls, folding screens and prints. Manuela has experience with handling artifacts from both private and public collections.

From 2002 to 2006, Manuela received additional training via the following academic internships: 1) at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC; 2) at the Palazzo Braschi in the Museo di Roma, and 3) at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC.

Manuela also has experience teaching conservation treatments using works of art captured on paper. From 2016-2017, she held a position at the Cr Forma School in Cremona.
