MANTO SOTIROPOULOU
Manto Sotiropoulou is a conservation specialist based in Piraeus, Greece, with extensive experience in conserving books, documents, photographs, and architectural materials. She operates a private studio and has worked on various projects for the Greek Ministry of Culture, national archives, and private collections. She has led conservation teams, notably for the “Ergoliptiki” archive digitization project.
She holds a Master’s in Conservation from Camberwell College of Arts, London, and a degree from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. Additionally, she holds a MSc in Protection of Monuments from the National Technical University of Athens.
Currently, she is pursuing a PhD at the University of West Attica where she also teaches part-time, covering topics like conservation of photographs, paper, and bookbindings.
Her research includes conservation of archival materials, digital image processing, and surface analysis for the identification of historic photographic and printing processes.
