CHIARA COMPOSTELLA

Chiara Compostella is a restorer and art historian. After earning her master's degree in restoration at the Istituto Centrale Restauro in Rome (ICR), she completed a post-graduate specialisation in art history at the University of Siena and attended, with a Fulbright grant, a master's degree in Arts Administration at Columbia University, New York.

Interested in post-colonial issues and the political and social aspects of contemporary restoration, she keeps a column in a specialized magazine and teaches occasionally at ICR.

Since the war in Kosovo in 1999, she has worked abroad in training and development projects (mainly in the Balkans, North Africa and the Middle East), on behalf of NGOs, Italian and non-Italian ministries and international organizations such as UNESCO and the Council of Europe.
